Crimson is inviting architects and other technical IT thought-leaders to join us for informative discussions and an evening of networking.
This will be an informal and thought-provoking event which will give attendees the opportunity to socialise and debate ideas with like-minded architects over a few drinks and a bite to eat.
As a specialist IT solutions consultancy and IT recruitment agency, Crimson delivers, deploys, supports, and sources the best skills in IT. It has identified a gap in the market for an active forum that addresses IT architecture at all levels. Crimson welcomes anyone wanting to learn and share knowledge of IT architecture’s function.
Topic:
The topic for this event will be: ‘How is the emergence and evolution of blockchain affecting architects?’.
There are many myths that exist around blockchain and crypto currencies, but its certain that these technologies are transforming the way that architects in the financial services sector tackle issues of slow payments, data security, and fraud.
In this session, expert industry speakers will be introducing discussions around the differing uses of blockchain technology for architects and the future of payment systems.
Eoin Woods, CTO of technology consultancy Endava, will be leading ‘A Breathless Tour of Blockchain’. He will briefly review the fundamental ideas underpinning blockchain and consider what problems its defining architectural characteristics make it suitable for. Attendees will get to see the code for some simple “smart contracts” and discover how blockchain languages, like Solidity, are integrated into a modern continuous integration environment. They will leave with an understanding of what a blockchain is and is not, an awareness of some of the more mature blockchain implementations, and with some pointers on getting started with the technology and working with smart contracts.
Sandeep Tyagi, CTO / Head of IT Consultant at Medsan and blockchain enthusiast, will be discussing how blockchain is disrupting several different sectors and he will delve into the opportunities and threats posed by decentralised apps (DAPS).
